At DonCARES, school is a place that nurtures mind, body, soul, and connectedness to community leaders, resources, and opportunities so students can achieve their greatest potential.
At DonCARES, our curriculum is inspired by the four E's: Exposure, Enrichment, Empowerment, & Excellence. By exposing our students to educational resources and caring role-models we can build the trust necessary to empower them to reach their full potential.
Exposure: In order to prepare our youth to be successful, we believe that we must also expose them to workforce opportunities, professional development, arts and entertainment, civics education and a broader education that encompasses more than core academic subjects. DonCARES has partnered and collaborated with many organizations both formally and informally to offer the students that we serve a broad range of activities.
Enrichment: At DonCARES we assume personal responsibility for the ambitious results that support our mission and serve our students. We use results as self-reflective tools for our improvement, and we ground our programming and decision-making in data. In order to improve the quality of our programming to produce the best youth outcomes, we identify our students' challenges and eliminate barriers that get in the way of their academic, social, and professional success.
Empowerment: At DonCARES we share with the students that we serve that we are in this together. By empowering those around us and sharing what we know, we can go further as a school community.
Excellence: We believe that every student we come in contact with has the ability to be superior in something. In order to surpass in accomplishment or achievement, we believe students must first encounter high expectations. Our curriculum holds the bar high and provides the adequate support for students to begin reaching their potential and ultimately become excellent at their task or assumed responsibility.
