Adolescents come from all walks of life. For many, that walk includes adversity and difficult circumstances that no young person should have to face alone. That's where DonCARES steps in to lend a hand.

For more than 4 years, we've been able to support mentoring relationships that have positively changed the lives of over 150 young people.

As a parent or guardian, counselor, or teacher you recognize the potential of your student better than anyone. We simply pair your adolescent with another awesome adult to protect and unleash their potential. Life is difficult, we all experience ups and downs, and we know - the more people in your corner the better. We'd love the chance to provide your adolescent with another positive role model to help set them on a path to success.

CHILD SAFETY

Making the best possible match between mentors and mentees is critical to the growth and development of an adolescent . But before we begin the matching process, we start by thoroughly screening potential Mentors.

 

DonCARES requires each volunteer to complete an extensive screening process that includes:

• Completion of a formal written application

• Background and reference checks

• An in-person interview

• An orientation and training process that outlines the individualized needs of your student and provides information and resources on how to encourage your adolescent's development

DonCARES also provides child safety tips to you and your child, and we welcome your questions and feedback. Throughout the life of the match, our professional staff will be in ongoing communication with your student and your adolescent's college student mentor. It's the best way to build a strong relationship that will have the greatest impact on your adolescent's future success.
