(Students in Mr. Keenan's 11th and 12th grade class working arduously on their resumes)
On Monday, November 19, 2018, DonCARES of Philadelphia, Inc. Executive Director Donovan Forrest returned to his Alma Mater Samuel Fels High School to conduct two resume workshops with 10th, 11th, and 12th-grade students in veteran teacher Michael Keenan's classroom.
Forrest, a 2013 graduate of Fels was excited to be back at his alma mater and give back to what he referred to as very deserving students. In total, Forrest helped over twenty-five students start their resumes. In addition, he walked through a successful interview with a student volunteer, discussed proper interview attire for both male and female students and encouraged students to think outside what they believe is possible.
During their workshop, a female student asked Forrest if it would be good to write Samuel Fels High School on their resume since it had a bad reputation. "Yes, your future employer will be glad to know you are in school. It's not always where you start but where you end up. You're in school right now so you taking the right step towards your success." Forrest responded.
