DonCARES Founder Named Mr. NCNW Temple Section

On Saturday, March 30, 2019, DonCARES of Philadelphia, Inc. Founder and Executive Director Donovan Forrest was named Mr. NCNW from the National Council of Negro Women, Temple University Section. An honor given to a man at Temple University who shows commitment in his service and leadership endeavors, and one supportive of NCNW, Forrest was humbled and grateful to receive the award.

Each year the National Council of Negro Women hosts a gala in which deserving young women and men within the Temple University community are recognized for their talents and accomplishments. As an organization founded to promote the lives of African American women we pride ourselves in our inclusivity, therefore not just recognizing black women but all women and men of color on Temple University's campus as we come together as a community to congratulate one another on a year of hard work.

Among other awardees was Strong Men Overcoming Obstacles Through Hard work Temple Section and Jaya Bolden LLC. On a post on instagram Forrest wrote: "It's an absolute honor to be named Mr. National Council of Negro Women, Temple Section. This is an opportunity that I will never take for granted. A huge thank you to my sisters in service and of course Dr. Mary McCleod Bethune for paving the way and making education for young brothers and sisters accessible."
