Mentee of the Month-Breyonna Scott

April 9, 2019

Breyonna Scott is recognized as the April 2019 DonCARES of Philadelphia, Inc. Mentee of the Month. Scott was selected because of her commitment to her education and her perseverance in dealing with life's challenges. Scott is currently a Senior at The U School and very passionate about black studies and has been a member of DonCARES of Philadelphia, Inc. since October 2018.

DonCARES Executive Director Donovan Forrest met Breyonna during the 2017-2018 school year when Forrest and his fellow community leader Brandon C. Ballard lead an entrepreneurship panel at The U School. In September, 2018 Forrest began recruiting mentees for the organization and Breyonna was selected. A month later, Breyonna was matched with India Fenner, a junior at Temple University, a musician, and staunch black women's rights activist.

After high school, Breyonna plans to attend Penn State University, Harrisburg Campus. In addition to her goal, Ms. Scott was accepted to Clarion University, Manor College, and Lasalle University. We are proud of Breyonna and her accomplishments.
