Mentor of the Month: Elijah Zimmerman

April 14, 2019

Elijah Zimmerman is recognized as the April 2019 DonCARES of Philadelphia, Inc. Mentor of the Month. Zimmerman was selected because he  has shown outstanding commitment to our core values and has built a admirable relationship with his mentee.

Zimmerman is currently a senior at Temple University majoring in Electrical Engineering and very active on Temple's campus as members of both The National Society of Engineers and Temple University's Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.

DonCARES Executive Director Donovan Forrest met Zimmerman in the beginning of September during the 2017-2018 school year shortly before Zimmerman applied to be a mentor.

Since his joining of DonCARES as a volunteer mentor, Zimmerman has built a commendable relationship with his 12th grade mentee Anthony.   In addition to his service with DonCARES, Elijah and his mentee Anthony were highlighted in Temple's College of Engineering website as a student spotlight. We are also excited to announce that Anthony will graduate from the U School, third in his graduating class.
