Former Obama White House Staff Member Donates Suits to DonCARES
June 7, 2019
Billy Fleming as he is known, originally from Arkansas, worked in the White House Domestic Policy Council during President Barack Obama's first term. In addition to committing his work at the intersection of politics, design, and science, Fleming received his PhD from University of Pennsylvania School of Design in 2017.
Earlier this week, a fellow classmate of DonCARES Executive Director Donovan Forrest tagged Forrest in a twitter post saying that Fleming was giving away his lightly worn suits to someone who could use them.
Forrest immediately responded that he had mentees that could use the suits.
On Thursday afternoon, Forrest drove from his home in Olney to Graduate Hospital to pick up five gently worn suits showing immense gratitude for Fleming's act of selflessness. Forrest and his team will distribute the suits to mentees who recently graduated from The U School.
